Recently, I went with a dear friend to Green Spring Gardens Park (Fairfax County’s horticultural park, at Little River Turnpike and Braddock Rd. near Annandale) for a sunset stroll. I particularly wanted to show my friend some amazing roots along the stream there (Turkeycock Run Stream). The banks of the stream have eroded severly in the last few years from all the storms. Clinging along one bank are these trees, Tulip Poplars, roots entwined. What a glorious sight. You should visit Green Spring.
